Island Krk

Krk is a unique island, attracting our attention with its vibrant history, culture, and natural beauty. It forms a harmonious whole with all the features that distinguish it from the area in which it is located and therefore it is sometimes called "a continent" (...)

Krk is located in Kvarnerski Zaljev (the Quarner Bay), near the city and the port of Rijeka. Although it is located in the north, the Mediterranean climate gives it warm summers and mild winters which is one of its important tourist trump-cards.

Most Croatian islands are not well connected with the mainland (there are too few boat lines), which is not the case with this island. Krk can be reached from various sides: from the sea (by boat or swimming), which is fairly obvious because all the islands are surrounded by the sea (...); from the mainland - because after the construction of the bridge, Krk practically became a part of the mainland (with a suitable toll for crossing the bridge); and from the air, because Rijeka airport is located on Krk, near Omišalj.
